7/4/2021. LONG VIDEO. Mexicans, Palestinians, Boricuas, Dominicans, and others (do not) celebrate USA independence day.

They held a rally in Sunset Park. After the rally they marched through different streets in Sunset Park, Brooklyn and later returned to the same park. In the park they burned flags of the zionist (Israel) state and a flag of the United States of America.

Mexicanos Unidos reminded people that we live on Lenape land.

The Palestinian organization Within Our Lifetime, Take Back the Bronx, Shaolin Rising, Kiskeya Solidarity Committee, NY Boricua Resistance, Semillas Collective, and Decolonize This Place joined Mexicanos Unidos.

“Thank you all for coming out to Sunset Park to stand against imperialism and to express solidarity towards our struggles. Let’s continue to build popular support! Hasta la Victoria Siempre!,” said Mexicanos Unidos after the demonstration.

Within Our Lifetime said on Instagram after the rally and march, “They can shoot us, bomb us, starve us, blockade us, strangle our economies, and poison our land, they can cut our olive trees down in Palestine and they can cut our forests down in Brazil, but the people of this land have demonstrated that 500 years of colonial plundering cannot stop the resistance of oppressed people. And Palestinian history over the past century shows us this, too. In fact the past few months of resistance in Gaza shows us this. The shared history of our people on both sides of the world shows us that while they can do all of this to us, it has never and will never stop us from taking back what is ours.

WOL’s Chair @nerdeenk speaking at the “Free Them All” Rally in Sunset Park yesterday (July 4th) organized by @MexicanosUnidos, where we came together with our Indigenous, Mexican, Puerto Rican and Dominican comrades to stand against US imperialism and zionism and educate each other on and connect our struggles from Bay Ridge to Sunset Park to Staten Island to The Bronx.

At the end of the day our unity is found not only through our internationalism, but through our commitment to anti-imperialism, as Brian from @MexicanosUnidos reminded us.

During the march through Sunset Park, Nerdeen led chants of “No More Kids In Cages! Free Our Children!” — a message that has long echoed from the Mexico-US border all the way to Palestine, where children are currently being held in cages by the US and zionist enemy.

Yesterday (Sunday, July 4th, 2021) we also uplifted the call to free Palestinian political prisoner Ghadanfar Abu Atwan, who has been on hunger strike for 62 days in protest of his administrative detention without charge or trial by the occupation.”

Deportations and expulsions under Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.

The organization United We Dream says that 597,656 is the number of confirm deportations and expulsions under Joe Biden and Kamala Harris (last updated on June 24, 2021).

United We Dream adds, “Under the Biden-Harris Administration’s watch, deportations and expulsions are taking place daily, despite a promise to stop deportations. This administration must prioritize the safety and healing of immigrant communities – and that means stopping deportations and expulsions. Join us and take action!”

More than 1,000 children in cages.

Independent reports that “US Customs and Border Protection is holding more than 1,000 children who crossed the US-Mexico border alone, the highest number since 27 April, during an unprecedented surge in young asylum-seekers.

The children, often held in jail-like conditions at facilities with poor health and safety records past a court-mandated limit of three days, will remain in CBP custody until they can be placed in a formal refugee shelter or reunited with a family sponsor already in the country.”
